KISS ME, KATE is a Shakespeare-inspired musical staged at the Festival Theatre, featuring un-forgettable music and whitty lyrics of Cole Porter with hits such as “So in love” and
“Too darn hot”. Get ready for hilarity on and off the stage!
EVITA, with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice will be staged at The Avon Theatre. While this is a modern musical bonding classical melody with rock and roll and jazz and Latin rhythms, Stratford Festival has placed this magnificent score in the hands of Gary Griftin. You’ll be glued to the stage as the ambitious and charismatic Eva Duarte rises from poverty in Argentina to become mistress, then wife of President Juan Perón.
THE TEMPEST by William Shakespeare. Christopher Plummer returns to Stratford to play Prospero in this haunting and magical play. ‘This culminating masterpiece of Shakespeare’s
career pits the desire for revenge against the demands of love and asks if man is capable of creating a brave new world.’
Day 1 CORNWALL-STRATFORD Mid afternoon we’ll arrive in Stratford to check in at our host hotel before dinner. This evening at the Festival Theatre we’ll see “Kiss me, Kate”. (D)
Day 2 STRATFORD A little free time to enjoy Stratford on the Avon this morning as well as choice of either a Costume & Warehouse Tour or new for this year, an Archive tour. This
afternoon in Stratford we’ll see “The Tempest” and this evening our final show, “Evita”. (B, D)
Day 3 STRATFORD-CORNWALL Something different this morning with a visit to Wings of Paradise. Tour will arrive back in Cornwall early this evening. (B)
