3 Day Tour
The beautiful Muskoka Region of Ontario is a four season vacation area, sprinkled with granite rock out-cropping’s, dotted with numerous lakes and rivers and something
interesting to see at every bend in the road. We want to visit during the harvesting of the cranberries, one of North America’s few native fruits. Cranberry cultivation is unique
in Ontario and while they do grow wild throughout the province, there are only three producing cranberry farms in Ontario, the largest two located just outside of Bala. This tour is packed with fun and great food.
Day 1 CORNWALL-ORILLIA We’ll travel west to central Ontario before cutting up through the Kawartha Lakes Region and into the Muskoka’s. A stop at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre
this afternoon will not only be interesting, but educational. You have seen it on T.V. on Restaurant Makeover here is your opportunity to not only see, but to dine there as well in the Ossawippi Express Dining Cars. (D)
Day 2 BALA It’s a short drive to the bog’s and marshes. We’ll tour the Johnson farm by wagon and see close up the harvesting operations. Johnson’s are proud of their new product,
produced at Muskoka Winery. They produce red & white cranberry wine as well as blueberry wine. This afternoon will be spent taking in the attractions, exhibits and entertainment at the Bala Cranberry Festival. (B, D)
Day 3 ORILLIA-CORNWALL Enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing our hotel .We’ll take a little different route home today via Algonquin Park, visiting the interpretive centre where we will be stopping for lunch. (B)
