From the rich Bavarian history, architecture and great food of Frankenmuth, to the colourful and friendly Dutch culture of Holland, Michigan, your days will be exciting and varied. Oh, but there is one more fascinating culture to visit – that of the Amish just over the Michigan border into Middlebury.

Day 1 Cornwall – Sarnia ON An easy days drive takes us to the border city of Sarnia to overnight.

Day 2 Sarnia – Frankenmuth MI This morning, after a visit to the duty-free shop, we’ll have a short drive to Frankenmuth – yum. Lunch at Zehnders, a visit to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland – the worlds largest Christmas store, and a tour of Michigan’s largest brewery with a little sample of their hand-crafted beer will provide a most interesting day. We’ll overnight in Frankenmuth at the Drury Inn and Suites. (B,L)

Day 3 Frankenmuth MI – Holland MI Birch Run Factory Outlets and visits to the Cheese Haus, fudge kitchen and Woolen Mills Sweater Store before our two hour drive over to Holland. Old legacies and new are presented in the wide array of attractions, events and festivals awaiting us. We’ll check in to the Holiday Inn Express for two nights. (B)

Day 4 Let’s enjoy our day, full of Holland Michigan adventure: Tulip Trolley, Dutch Marketplaats, live performance from Moederleet, Veldheer Tulip Gardens. DeKlomp Wooden Shoes and Delft Factory, if time permits. We’ll also visit Windmill Island Gardens. (B,D)

Day 5 Holland MI – Middlebury IN Today we travel across country to Shipshewana, Indiana, visiting the local market, Meno-Hof Centre, learning more about the people known as the Amish. Time for shopping before checking into the Essenhaus Inn. (B,D)

Day 6 Middlebury IN – Sarnia ON Starting today off with a countryside tour and lunch before heading to Flint Michigan for our overnight stay. (B,L)

Day 7 Flint MI – Cornwall We will cross over the Blue Water Bridge at Port Huron back into Canada.
