4 Day Tour
Located in the heart of mid-west’s Great Lake Region, Chicago Illinois sits on the banks of Lake Michigan, fifth largest body of fresh water in the world. What began as an area the Native American called “Checaugou” after the wild onion that grew there, Chicago expanded, prospered and grew into the fascinating city that it is today with it’s universal appeal, and we are excited to offer it as a new destination this year.
From the Magnificent Mile (otherwise known as North Michigan Avenue) and one of the top five shopping areas in the world, to their famous deep dish pizza and legendary blues clubs, Chicago offers an endless sea of possibilities. We’re staying right in the heart of the action, close to The Magnificent Mile and The Loop which is Chicago’s business and cultural centre.
The Hilton Garden Inn is a boutique property, with all the comfort amenities and more that we’ll need for a great stay. If after a day of sight-seeing, you are too tired to explore the
multitude of dining spots near our hotel, then you need go no further than the lobby of our hotel for your dining needs. The trolley runs regularly within a block of our hotel offering you independence and flexibility for your free time.
The famous Route 66 begins in Chicago. The Sears Tower soars high above Chicago giving excellent views of up to four states on clear days. The Navy Pier is a premier attraction with
over half a mile of museums, theatres, shops, restaurants and free entertainment. The list of possibilities are too numerous to list, however the free time we have laced through our time in Chicago will allow you ample opportunity for activities of choice.
July 22 Cornwall-Chicago. We’ll leave Cornwall at 8:00 AM this morning for Ottawa airport. Out flights will have us in Chicago by very early afternoon. Dinner together tonight will be a great way to quick off our stay in the fascinating city.
July 23-24 Breakfast included this morning. Next two mornings will be self choice breakfast. An informative city tour will assist greatly to orientate you to areas of interest. Sears Tower Observatory or the Hancock Tower Observatory will provide you with a stunning view over the city at a time of your choosing. We’ll take you to the Navy Pier, and the Water Tower Place, home to Marshall Field’s and Carson Pirie Scott’s landmark flagship stores. If Broadway Shows attract you, we’ll assist you to secure tickets of your choice.
July 25 Chicago-Cornwall. Mid afternoon flights will have you back in Ottawa before 6:00 PM. where our coach will meet us.
