Lancater County
May 25-28, 2010
4 Day Tour
A more beautiful time in Penn Dutch Country you’ll not find. By the end of May, the crops are in, gardens are up and trees and shrubs are flowering abundantly. Visiting Lancaster County Pennsylvania is like visiting another country. A place where your car slows to a trot behind a horse-drawn Amish buggy. Where life moves in harmony with the seasons.
A land of one-room school houses, hand sewn quilts at ten stitches to the inch, and farm machinery pulled by six-mule teams. Modern life rushes by so fast. Come with us to Penn Dutch country and change the pace of your life in ways you’ll never forget.
Day 1 Cornwall-Lancaster, PA We cross into the US at Ivy Lea stopping at Syracuse for lunch. The mountains through upper Pennsylvania are especially beautiful in the spring. Just
east of Lancaster in the heart of Lancaster County, the warm homey atmosphere of our country inn awaits. We’ll settle in before our first ‘Good ‘n Plenty’ farm-style feast this evening. (D)
Day 2 Continental Breakfast is included each morning of our stay. We’ll take you on an informative countryside tour this morning. You’ll witness a unique way of life as you see the Amish at work and play. Our tour will end at the Kitchen Kettle in Intercourse PA in time for lunch. This afternoon we’ll give you time to shop at the Rockvale Shopping Outlets, and this evening will find us at The Dutch Apple dinner theatre for the Musical show called “Big River”, highlighting the adventures of Huckleberry Finn. (B, D)
Day 3 What a great day we have today. Our first part of the morning, we will be given the opportunity of exploring the back stage of the Millenium Theatre. This tour will make the
afternoon production of “Joseph” even more exciting. The Millenium Theatre is one of the two great theatres of North America. The experience of sitting in this theater this afternoon during the live production of Joseph gives you the feeling of being right in the midst of, and part of the production. Dinner this evening at the Plain & Fancy Farm. (B, D)
Day 4 Lancaster, PA-Cornwall. We pack up and say goodbye to our Cozy Country Inn this morning. Tour will stop at duty free before crossing the border into Canada this afternoon. (B)
