Day 1 Cornwall-Edmonton, Alberta Our journey begins with a flight across this beloved country of ours to Edmonton the capital city of Alberta, and our first overnight stay.
Day 2 Edmonton-Fort St. John Our journey continues as we head north through part of this prairie province to Dawson Creek, and the beginning of what is known as the great Alaska Highway. Our tour will stop at “Mile Zero”, allowing time for pictures of the monument that marks this event. (B.L)
Day 3 Fort St. John-Muncho Lake The drive is breathtaking, the scenery just simply out of this world, and viewed right from the comfort of your coach. Our home tonight is one
of the largest log structures in British Columbia, located on the shores of one of the prettiest lakes in the northern part of this province.
Day 4 Muncho Lake-Whitehorse Laird Hot Springs will be our first stop today. The “Sign Post Forest” at Watson Lake will also be a highlight of this day. Not only will you visit and learn of the history of this remarkable forest, we will also put up a sign that displays our passenger manifest. Our home this evening will be in the capital city of Whitehorse. This evening will also be a highlight as we attend the famous Frantic Follies. It will set the pace and put you into the environment of the early gold seekers. (B)
Day 5 Whitehorse-Dawson City. Our tour starts to slow down now. We’ll follow the trail of the old prospectors, view the Five Finger Rapids and have lunch in the middle of nowhere Tonight you’ll have the opportunity to visit Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Saloon. It’s like stepping back into the 19th century. You’ll love it. (Picnic L)
Day 6 Tour of Dawson City and the Gold Fields today. You’ll even get the chance to pan for some of the yellow stuff as well. It’s a breathtaking view of Dawson and the Yukon River from the top of the mountain. This afternoon will be free for local sightseeing & shopping.
Day 7 Dawson-Tok. A short ferry ride this afternoon will take us across the Yukon River, and then its a fabulous drive over the “top of the world highway”. Coffee break will be in Chicken Alaska. Where is Chicken? Let’s say that it is one of those places that you will be talking about for a long time to come. Our overnight will be in Tok.
Day 8 Tok-Fairbanks Today we’re going to cruise part of the Tanana and Chena Rivers on board the River Boat Discovery. You’ll visit a wonderful interpretive site depicting Alaska of old as well as have a chance to see a dog sled demonstration. This evening enjoy, a fabulous mouth watering B.B.Q buffet. at the Alaska Salmon Bake. (D)
Day 9 Fairbanks-Anchorage Our journey takes us through part of Denali National Park on the George Parks Highway which takes us past the highest peak in North America, Mt. McKinley. (B)
Day 10 This will be a day, long to be remembered. It all starts with a drive along Turnagain Arm to Portage, then through the mountains to Whittier. A breathtaking 110 mile cruise will take us around the greatest sound in the world, Prince William Sound. Our cruise this year will take us to the Egg Rock Seal Lion Rookery, and then through the scenic Esther Passage to College and Harriman Fjords. This is one of Alaska’s amazing treasures. (L)
Day 11 Anchorage-Tok This trip is a stunning drive as we make our way through the Chugach and Wrangell Mountain ranges where you’ll view Matanuska Glacier, a river of ice working its way through the forest. Sheep Mountain and Lion Head are just a few of the breathtaking sights of this day.
Day 12 Tok-Whitehorse We head back into Canada today. Following the St Elias Mountain Range and Lake Kluane, we’ll once again make this another fantastic day of travel and scenery. At the ending of this day you will have traveled every mile of the Alaska Highway.
Day 13 Adventure awaits as we head back into Alaska for one more visit to the community of Skagway, which dates back to the late eighteen hundreds and the scene of the Gold rush days. Our journey takes us through the White Pass on the White Pass Railway.
Day 14 Whitehorse-Dease Lake We start our journey south today by taking an alternate route known as the Cassiar Highway, and travel through the rugged country of the Cassiar Range on the western side of British Columbia. You’ll have the opportunity of visiting one of Canada’s largest mining areas of Jade. Our home this evening is an oasis in the middle of nowhere.
Day 15 Dease Lake-Smithers. Our journey takes us along the remainder of the Cassiar Highway, stopping for lunch once again in the very heart of the wilderness at Bell Two. When this day is done you will have traveled two of the greatest highways in British Columbia. (L)
Day 16 Smithers-Prince George It’s an easy day today allowing you to have a late breakfast before we continue on our journey. The Yellow Head Highway will be our route this morning as we travel to Prince George.
Day 17 Prince George-Hinton The heart of the Rockies are ours today as we make our way into Jasper National Park and the community of Jasper for our luncheon stop. The views
this day are spectacular, and include Mt Robson, the highest in the Rockies, and Mt. Terry Fox, dedicated to the young man who helped greatly with the fight against cancer. We leave the mountains behind this afternoon as we travel part of the prairies once again. (B)
Day 18 Hinton-Edmonton It’s not a long journey today as we make our way back across the prairie’s to the capital once more. This afternoon we’ll visit one of the largest malls in
Canada, The West Edmonton Mall. This evening we’ll gather for a farewell dinner and the opportunity to reminisce about the sights and sounds that you have seen and heard during the past 18 days of travel. (D)
Day 19 Edmonton-Cornwall The journey now comes to an end, as our afternoon flight makes this a relaxing day and brings this “once-in-a- lifetime” tour to an end. Our motorcoach will take us from Ottawa back to Cornwall. (B)
