6 Day Tour
This is one of our all time favourite tours, and for many good reasons!
Day 1 CORNWALL-SUDBURY Tour departs Cornwall for Sudbury, home of the nickel mines.
Day 2 SUDBURY -SAULT STE. MARIE Our first stop of the day will be a most interesting visit to Big Nickel Mine. This afternoon we follow the shoreline of the North Channel of Georgian Bay to Sault Ste. Marie for a two night stay. The rustic landscape of the Ontario Northland arrayed in beautiful fall colours, is truly a scenic feast. (L,D)
Day 3 It’s an early start today and we’ll have breakfast and lunch on board the Agawa Train as we travel deep into the heart of the Northern Ontario wilderness. The prettiest drive east of the Canadian Rockies awaits us today. (B,L)
Day 4 SAULT STE MARIE-GAYLORD MICHIGAN We cross into the U.S. this morning and take the world’s longest suspension bridge at St. Ignace. A twenty minute boat ride takes us across to Mackinac Island, a place called “Fairyland from out of the past.” The island is devoid of motor vehicles so enjoy your step back in time. A buggy ride awaits us at dock side to give us a grand tour of the island.
Day 5 GAYLORD-FRANKENMUTH-SARNIA You’ll think you’ve crossed the ocean today. Why? Because Frankenmuth is dubbed “Little Bavaria”. We’ll visit the famous Bronner’s Christmas Store with over 100 Christmas trees decorated and on display. If Bronner’s doesn’t have it, then it hasn’t been made yet. Overnight – Sarnia. (B,L)
Day 6 SARNIA -CORNWALL We’ll stop in the Toronto area today for lunch with an expected time of arrival back in Cornwall early this evening. (B)
